The Beauty of Brows

Perfect Brows have always been huge for those in the beauty industry—even though styles have evolved over the decades. Gorgeous brows are still, and most likely always will be, the rave for fashion conscious women.

The most modern and sought after trend for American women is a full—yet perfectly shaped and defined brow.

So how do you achieve the perfect brow look?

Well, there’s waxing and tweezing. Both of which will help in shaping your brows to compliment your eyes, but for these techniques, I highly recommend seeing a trained professional who specializes in this area as they will be able to read the natural shape of your face to perfectly shape your brow.

If your brows are naturally thin and need filling in, there are many options and techniques for filling in brows including permanent, temporary and daily solutions.

A cost effective and pretty simple way is your regular brow pencil/powder. This is the least expensive it’s a daily beauty ritual that requires a bit of practice to perfect. Ask your cosmetologist for a little tutorial on how to use your makeup. They can teach you how to get the shape just right and apply with ease.

Something with greater longevity is henna brow. You know those henna tattoos you get at the beach or on vacation? They make them for brows in dozens of shades! The treatment lasts approximately 30 days, so there’s no need for daily application. This treatment is not a DIY project; it needs to be done by a licensed and trained technician.

If you’re looking for something more permanent, there’s always microblading. Microblading is a form of tattooing. Unlike a regular tattoo, microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool (scalpel) instead of a machine. Hair-like strokes are drawn with the tool to mimic natural hairs in your brows. Although considered a permanent process, it will most likely need minor touch ups over the years and YES, ONLY a licensed and certified microblade technician should perform this technique.Something with greater longevity is henna brow. While any one of these processes will likely achieve the results you’re looking for, each one has its own unique factors that may or may not be tolerable for you—be it time, cost, pain, or lifestyle—do your homework on both the technique and the person with whom you are trusting to work on your face.
