Annual Golf Scramble Brings Community Together For Noble Cause
Nov 20, 2019 03:24PM ● By Staff WriterFor many in Acadiana, Friday, November 15, 2019 started out as an ordinary crisp, sunny day. But for the golfers playing in Westminster Christian Academy’s 22nd Annual Golf Scramble, it was a day of honor, food, fellowship, and great golf all while supporting a good and noble cause. The event, which was held at the Wetlands Golf Course in Lafayette, tied a bow on Veteran’s Day week with a color guard presentation and bugle performance of all of the songs from each of the branches of the military honoring veterans in attendance.
Two Westminster Christian Academy high school students led in the National Anthem before the players hit the links. The scramble format was enhanced by some prize holes including a longest drive contest, closest to the hole shot, and great food throughout the day.
