Laurie J. James Selected as Top Master Career Director of the Year

Laurie J. James, a renowned career coach and résumé writer, will be honored as the International Association of Top Professionals' (IAOTP) 2024 Top Master Career Director of the Year. James will receive this prestigious award at IAOTP's annual gala in Nashville this December, recognizing her exceptional leadership and contributions to the career services industry.
With nearly 40 years of experience, Laurie J. James has established herself as a leading figure in career coaching and résumé writing. She co-founded the Professional Résumé Writing and Research Association (PRWRA) in 2000, expanding it globally during her tenure as the first president. The association, now known as Career Directors International (CDI), has introduced several industry innovations under her leadership, including global résumé writing awards and initiatives like “Volunteers For Careers,” which offered free career services to those affected by the September 11 attacks.
James is one of only 12 Master Career Directors worldwide and has worked with over 13,000 clients, helping them achieve better career outcomes. She is also a Certified Career Enlightenment LinkedIn Writer, Certified DISC Practitioner, and an Award-Winning Image Coach, among other credentials.
In addition to her career accomplishments, Laurie J. James has been recognized with numerous awards, including the CDI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. This year, she is also a candidate for the Empowered Woman Award and will be featured in the Top Industry Professionals (TIP) Magazine.
James recently published her first book, *“About Faces™,”* a tribute to her late father. The book has been well-received, and she plans to continue writing and inspiring others through her work.

In her personal life, James enjoys traveling, supporting local NCAA student-athletes, and spending time with her family. She attributes her success to perseverance, a strong work ethic, and the mentors who have guided her along the way.
