Symphony in the Park

A Gator on the Geaux statue dedication followed by a Lake Charles Symphony concert.

The Lake Charles Symphony is excited to announce a performance at Sam Houston Jones State Park on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The event will begin with the park’s Gator-on-the-Geaux dedication, followed by a 10-piece orchestra conducted by William G. Rose. The concert will feature works by Handel, Gottschalk, Debussy, and Vivaldi with a violin concerto by Sara Hook, our concert master.

This concert is free and open to the public thanks to the generosity of LyondellBasell. There is no park entrance fee for this concert. The concert and the painted gator are sponsored by LyondellBasell and are in collaboration with the Lt. Governor’s Office and Louisiana State Parks. We encourage you to mark your calendars and bring your chair or blankets for this one-of-a-kind event.

Golf Cars of Louisiana will be providing lifts from parking to site. Food will be available for purchase through area food trucks.
